Request Software Installation at NICS

NICS will install software if it is deemed beneficial to the user community. The decision will be based on:

  • Stability: is the software available in a stable version that runs well on Kraken?
  • Suitability: does the software run in parallel, with highly scalable libraries and applications preferable?
  • Interest: would other researchers be likely to use this software?
  • Licensing: if the software has a license fee, does the it merit the cost?
To request software, please complete the following form.
Please enter your username on Kraken.
Please supply an email address for correspondence concerning this installation.
If no version is given, the most recent full release will be assumed.
Please describe this software briefly. If it is similar to another software package already installed on Kraken, explain the additional benefit of this package. If the software is serial, justify its use on Kraken.
Where can we find source code and installation information? This may simply be a URL, but if you have any additional information about installation or licensing, please list it here.
Who will use this software? If possible, please list names or groups. What are the expected use patterns?
