Request Software Installation at NICS

NICS will install software if it is deemed beneficial to the user community. The decision will be based on:

  • Stability: is the software available in a stable version that runs well on Kraken?
  • Suitability: does the software run in parallel, with highly scalable libraries and applications preferable?
  • Interest: would other researchers be likely to use this software?
  • Licensing: if the software has a license fee, does the it merit the cost?

If no version is given, the most recent full release will be assumed.
Please describe this software briefly. If it is similar to another software package already installed on Kraken, explain the additional benefit of this package. If the software is serial, justify its use on Kraken.
