The National Institute for Computational Sciences (NICS) is funded by the National Science Foundation to support research at US Universities.
NICS resources enable large-scale data analysis and visualization of simulation data, which provides a conduit for scientific discovery.
Most of the NICS resources are committed as part of the TeraGrid allocation process. However, NICS can make some Director Discretionary awards to State of Tennessee researchers and others.
