XSEDE14 Deadlines are Approaching

Submissions for Papers and Tutorial Proposals Due Soon; Time for Early Registration and Hotel Booking Also Not Far Away

Papers and tutorial proposals for the XSEDE14 conference, July 13–18, at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis, are due March 15. Early registration for the conference and hotel booking availability begins on April 14.

The XSEDE14 Call for Participation is public and can be found here. The XSEDE14 conference will showcase the discoveries, innovations, challenges, and achievements of those who use and support XSEDE's advanced digital resources and services, as well as other digital resources and services throughout the world.

The theme of XSEDE14 is "Engaging Communities," with the aim of capturing the attention of not only traditional users of digital resources but also people who have not, but could, benefit from them—such as those in the humanities, economics, and art, for example.

Other Conference Updates

The XSEDE14 conference will also host an all-day workshop titled "reproducibility @ XSEDE" on Monday, July 14. The workshop will feature an interactive, open-ended, discussion-oriented agenda focused on reproducibility in large-scale computational science.

In addition, Tom Lange, director, Corporate R&D, Procter & Gamble Company, will speak at XSEDE14. P&G is a partner in XSEDE's "Industry Relations" efforts. As director of R&D, Modeling and Simulation at P&G, Lange leads the company's modeling and simulation efforts, spanning the range of scales from atoms to the store shelf. Using examples from P&G and their product development, he will discuss the need for computational modeling skills in industry to keep businesses competitive.
