System Overview

Nautilus is an SGI Altix UV system consisting of one UV1000 with:

  • 1024 cores (Intel Nehalem EX processors)
  • 4 terabytes of global shared memory in a single system image
  • 960 TB Lustre file system
  • access to the NICS HPSS storage system
  • CPU speed of 2.0 GHz
  • 8.2 Teraflops performance

Nautilus also has:

  • 4 UV10 Harpoon Nodes
  • containing 32 cores
  • 128 GB of memory
  • 2 GPUs per node
  • 4 NVIDIA Tesla (codename Fermi) GPUs with 3GB of GDDR5 memory per GPU
  • GPUs support CUDA C/C++/Fortran, OpenCL, and DirectCompute Toolkits
